Description:  1874 was the first year that the one dollar bill took on a familiar design that would be used until the early 1920s.  Series of 1874 one dollar bills can be tougher to find than some issues.  Unfortunately, series of 1874 one dollar bills are not especially popular; their value does not always reflect their relative rarity.

George Washington is featured on the 1874 one dollar bill.  You can also find the Embarkation of the Pilgrims scene on the left hand side of the bill.  There are two red seals on each bill.  All 1874 ones are signed by Allison and Spinner.

Variations:  This was a one year issue with just one signature combination.  Outside of serial number and plate letter differences, all 1874 one dollar bills will look the same.
