Value of Five Hundred Dollar Star Note

Five Hundred Dollar Bill with a Star in the Serial Number – Values and Pricing

The great news about $500 star notes is that they are very easy to keep up with and understand.  There were only three different issues:  1928 $500 star notes, 1934 $500 star notes, and 1934A, $500 star notes.

Five hundred dollar star notes from 1928 are very rare.  There are less than ten currently known to exist.  The reason these are rare is simple.  Very few were printed for each district.  Needless to say, if you have a $500 star note from 1928, please send us an email and tell us about it.

$500 star notes from 1934 are very popular, but they are actually fairly common.  The value of a 1934 star is based purely on the condition, serial number, and district of issue.  A very generic 1934 $500 star should start at $1,500 and go up from there based on the above factors.

1934A five hundred dollar star notes are rarer than 1934s, but 1934As don’t always command much of a premium beyond that of a 1934.
