Value of Misprinted Five Dollar Bill

Value of Misprinted Five Dollar Bill

Misprinted five dollar bills can be found across many years and many different seal colors.  Five dollar bills present a good value for collectors.  One can buy a misprinted five dollar bill for about the same price as a one dollar bill misprint might cost; but five dollar misprints are scarcer.  All misprints are still fairly common though

We have a full guide to misprinted money here.

Traditionally people think of older money as being more valuable.  However, that does not really apply to misprinted money.  If a 1950 and a 2006 five dollar bill have the same misprint, it is likely that the 2006 bill will be worth more money.  The change in the design of the five dollar bill has recently sparked the interest of misprint collectors.

Seal color is still important when it comes to misprints.  Collectors want five dollar misprints with a brown or yellow seal.  Red and blue seal five dollar misprints are valuable as well.  Green seal misprints are the most common.

We do purchase misprinted five dollar bills.  However, in order to make an offer we have to see a scan or digital photo of the bill.  Please send an image to admin@oldcurrencyvalues.com
