Money That Does Not Say In God We Trust

Missing “In God We Trust” Is NOT an Error

The phrase “In God We Trust” was first printed on money in 1956.  Due to the way currency was issued, some money as old as 1935 was still being printed in 1956.  So some 1935G $1 blue seal silver certificates could or could not say In God We Trust.

Today many people with old money automatically check for the motto.  Many times the bill won’t say In God We Trust, and the owner thinks he or she has a true treasure.  The fact of the matter is that saying or not saying In God We Trust isn’t an error and it never commands a premium.  Sorry for the bad news.
