Description: The spread eagle one hundred dollar legal tender is one of the most iconic pieces of United States paper money. These can be found with the date of February 25, 1862 or March 3, 1863 printed on them. This is the first one hundred dollar legal tender ever printed in The United States, as such it is highly prized and valuable. I think these notes are so striking because they were the first piece of money to not feature a politician or allegorical figure on it.
Most early $100 legal tender notes are found in heavily circulated condition. No matter what you have, send us a picture of it. We would like to take a look at it and make an offer. |
||
Variations: The $100 legal tender seen above is available in seven different varieties. The varieties are determined by the act date, series number, seal type, and printing company. Rather than us try to list them all out here, just send pictures of what you have for further review. | ||
