Description:  The $500 interest bearing note, as seen below, is extremely rare.  The were printed with dates of August 15th 1864 and July 15th 1865.  The 1864 issue is completely unique, and the only example from 1865 is a cancelled issue.  Amazingly, the 1864 example is actually in private hands.

The note itself shows a portrait of Alexander Hamilton.  George Washington is shown on the lower right hand side of the bill.  The left side has a vignette of a mortar.  If you have one of these notes, please contact us and tell us about it.  We are certainly interested buyers.

Varieties:  There are no varieties within each year issue.  However, the 1864 and 1865 do have a slightly different color scheme.
