|Description: 1882 twenty dollar bills were printed for almost forty years. They are broken up into three different series. The last series is known as a value back. They are called value backs because the back of each note states the face value of each bill. These were only printed from 1916 until 1922. Because of this rather short print run, some 1882 $20 value backs can be rare.
The note pictured below is from Dunkirk, NY. Your actual twenty dollar bill could be from any bank or any town. Generally speaking, notes from smaller towns are worth more than money from larger banks in larger towns. We would strongly recommend you that you contact us with an image of your note and we can appraise it.
|Variations: There are several rare signature combinations for the 1882 $20 value back note. In fact there are nine signature combinations. Six of the nine are rare. The three common signatures are:
Lyons – Roberts
Even if you have one of the common three signature combinations your note could still be quite valuable just based on the bank that issued it. Contact us for exact values.
