| Description: Series of 1891 treasury notes are much more common today than they were fifteen years ago. A hoard of these was found at a Florida bank in the early part of the 21st century. That hoard has since been mostly disbursed to collectors. Today heavily circulated examples are more difficult to locate than uncirculated examples. Of course the nicer notes are still worth more.
John Marshall is featured on the left hand side of the bill. Each note has a serial number that ends with a star symbol. In this case the star symbol does not signify that the note is a replacement, as it would for later star notes.
