Description:  We know for a fact that 44,000 1922 $50 gold certificate star notes were printed.  Of that number, only about 15 have been discovered by collectors so far.  That is a poor survival rate, meaning that more 1922 $50 star notes will be found as time passes.

1922 $50 stars are the only fifty gold certificates for which star notes were issued.  The star symbol is found at the beginning of the serial number.  The serial number will always end with the letter B.  Each serial number is printed in gold ink.

Variations:  Series of 1922 $50 star notes were only printed for the Speelman and White signature combination.  There are mule and non-mule varieties.  Mules are worth more.  Please contact us if you need help identifying your note.
