Series of 1928B two dollar red seal legal tender notes are the key to the 1928 $2 series. 1928B $2 bills aren’t exceptionally scarce or expensive, but they are important for the series.
Despite the fact that series of 1928B two dollar bills are scarcer for the series, a heavily circulated or damaged 1928B two can still be bought for around $10. A nice circulated example should bring around $75. Uncirculated 1928B $2s certainly carry a strong premium. A choice uncirculated 1928B as graded by a third party will start at a few hundred dollars and move up from there.
Only nine million regular issue 1928B two dollar bills were printed. These can be from the AA block, but they are more commonly found in the BA block. Nine million isn’t a terribly low printing, but it is low enough to add a little extra infusion of rarity in the 1928 red seal two dollar bill series.
Like all red seal two dollar legal tender notes, the series of 1928B $2 notes features Thomas Jefferson on the front and Monticello on the back.
Series of 1928B $2 bills were printed between February 1932 and March 1933. These dates coincide with when WO Woods and Ogden L Mills were in office together.
