Series of 1928E Two Dollar Bill – Red Seal Legal Tender – Values and Pricing
It is very easy to keep up with the series of 1928E $2 red seal legal tender note. These only come in one block and one serial number range. There are no mules or special varieties that add rarity.
All 1928E $2 red seals are from the DA block, meaning that non-star serial numbers start with D and end with A. Somewhere around 6.5 million 1928E two dollar red seal bills were printed. This lower printing makes this a slightly tougher issue for the 1928 two dollar series.
A heavily circulated 1928E $2 note is still going to be very cheap, probably around $5. A nice looking note will cost closer to $30. The choice uncirculated notes from the series of 1928E do carry a premium. They start at around $100 and move up from there depending on the state of preservation.
Like all red seal two dollar legal tender notes, the series of 1928E $2 notes features Thomas Jefferson on the front and Monticello on the back.
Series of 1928E $2 bills were printed between July 1945 and July 1946. These dates coincide with when Fred M Vinson and WA Julian were in office together.
