The series of 1928F $2 red seal legal tender is very common for the series.  1928F two dollar bills can typically be bought for around $15 in very attractive conditions.  Choice uncirculated examples can be picked up with ease for about $75.  As usual though, notes that are heavily circulated and in poor condition only bring about $5 each.

All series of 1928F $2 red seals will have a serial number that begins with D and ends with A.  In collector terms, they are from the DA block.  All told, just over 42 million 1928F two dollar bills were printed.

Like all red seal two dollar legal tender notes, the series of 1928F $2 notes features Thomas Jefferson on the front and Monticello on the back.

Series of 1928F $2 bills were printed between July 1946 and May 1949.  These dates coincide with when Fred M Vinson and John W Snyder were in office together.  As you can see, the year 1928 really has nothing to do with when 1928F two dollar bills were actually printed.
