Series of 1929 $50 National Bank Note – National Currency
Small size 1929 fifty dollar national bank notes have different values depending on their condition, serial number, and bank of issue. Most 1929 $50 national bank notes sell for about three to five times their face value if they are from an available bank. If your $50 1929 national bank note is from a less than common bank then then something closer to $500 could be accurate. Some very rare $50 1929 national bank notes are worth upwards $1,000.
Series of 1929 national bank notes come in two varieties. Collectors call these type 1 and type 2 varieties. The pictures below show the differences. The charter number is also printed in brown ink twice on type 2 1929 $50 bills.
