Description:  This $10 Confederate note shows a woman in flowing robes (Hope) standing next to an anchor in the center. In the lower right corner of the note is a portrait of C.G. Memminger. In the lower left corner of the note is a portrait of H.M.T. Hunter. This note was printed with black ink with the two X’s in red or orange ink on either plain or watermarked paper. This note has no design on the back.

 

If the serial number of your note is 470, 970, 1484, 5089, 8005, 8007, 19107, 77389, 91497, or 94129 then what you have is a reproduction with no collector value.  Please do not contact us if you have a reproduction.
The backs of these issues are blank, but they could be stamped or inscribed
Inscriptions: “Six Months after the ratification of a Treaty of Peace between the Confederate States and the United States, The Confederate States of America will pay to the bearer on demand Ten Dollars/ Richmond, Sept. 2nd, 1861/ Fundable in 8 Per Cent Stock or Bonds The Confederate States of America/ Receivable in Payment of all dues Except Export Duties/ Keatinge & Ball, Richmond, Va.”
