Description: If there is one undervalued note for the five dollar denomination, the series of 1875 $5 bill might be that note. This year and design has never really captured much attention. You don’t see these notes very often, and when you do see them they just don’t get much attention.
This is the second note in the “woodchopper” line. It goes with the 1869, 1878, 1880, and 1907 woodchoppers. Andrew Jackson is still featured on the front of these note. 1875 five dollar bills also have red seals and serial numbers. If the note below doesn’t look like your series of 1875 five, then you probably have a $5 national bank note. |

Variations: Series of 1875 five dollar bills can be signed by either Allison and New or Allison and Wyman. Both signature combinations are common. However, if you have an 1875 two dollar bill signed by Allison and New, and the bill has a red circular over print that says “Series A 1875” or “Series B 1875” then you have a rarer variety. The series B is slightly rarer, and the series A is much rarer, especially in high grades. Contact us for exact pricing when dealing with anything from the series of 1875. |
