Description:  One dollar national bank notes were issued by most national banks that were open from 1862 until 1878.  These notes feature two women holding hands as the central theme.  A large number one can be seen on the left hand side of the bill.  The word “ONE” is also printed all across the bill in many places.  One dollar national bank notes are not rarer.  However, they can be valuable if they are in great condition or if they are from a rare bank.  Please contact us for exact rarity.

The backs of one dollar national bank notes all have the same scene which shows The Landing Of The Pilgrims.

Variations:  These notes come with two different seal possibilities.  They can have the red spiked seal as shown above, or they can have a more circular red seal.  The circular seal is found on notes that say series of 1875.  One dollar national bank notes can also come with blue serial numbers instead of red serial numbers.  There will also not always be a large red charter number printed on the note.  The seal on the back of one dollar national bank notes will change depending on which state the note is from.  And as noted above, these one dollar bills can be from any bank and town.
