Green Seal Fifty Dollar Bills – Values and Pricing

Green Seal Fifty Dollar Bills (1928 – present) – Values and Pricing

Any $50 bill that has a green seal is known as a Federal Reserve note. We separate $50 bills as follows:

19281928A19341934A1934B1934C1934D1950 and Newer

The truth of the matter is that green seal $50 federal reserve notes are not going to be worth much more than $50 in most cases. This is simply due to the fact that they aren’t rare and they are expensive (in terms of face value) to collect. It takes a lot of $50 bills to have a complete set, and that is a lot of face value to tie up in a collection that isn’t very rare.

When looking at old green seal fifty dollar bills, you need to look for bills that are in uncirculated condition, or that have a serial number that ends with a star symbol. Star notes from 1928 are usually rare and collectible. $50 star notes from 1934 certainly have the chance to be valuable, but some are common. Star notes from 1950 and newer generally don’t carry much of a premium.
