High denomination notes were printed for the 1928, 1934, and 1934A series. High denomination refers to currency with a face value of $500, $1,000, $5,000, or $10,000.
As a general rule, a problem free $500 or $1,000 bill is worth about 20% over face value or more. High grade uncirculated $500s and $1,000s are worth around twice face value. Both of these rules change dramatically if the note has a star symbol at the end of the serial number. Star notes are rare and we recommend you contact us for an appraisal of a star note.
